Ryan Hardie Transfer from Wrexham to Huddersfield Town

There have been strong reports linking Bolton Wanderers with Wrexham’s Ryan Hardie, but currently, the forward is set to join Huddersfield Town instead of Bolton Wanderers.

Huddersfield Town are expected to complete a deal for Ryan Hardie before tonight’s 7pm transfer deadline, which could potentially be a permanent transfer.

Huddersfield Town made an attempt to sign Ryan Hardie before the 7 pm deadline. Football League World reports that Liam Manning wants to add to his frontline today and that Hardie is now being considered by the West Yorkshire club. Huddersfield Town have limited striking options after approving Joe Taylor’s loan move to Wigan Athletic earlier this month, which could make gametime at the Accu Stadium more available. It is not clear if a potential move for Hardie would be a permanent transfer or a loan.

Huddersfield Town are interested in Wrexham's 28-year-old Scottish forward Ryan Hardie. The club, which has encountered issues in its pursuit of a striker this month, faces competition from Bolton Wanderers, who are also interested in Hardie. A move could be difficult for Huddersfield due to the player's connection with Bolton manager Steven Schumacher, who previously managed him at Plymouth Argyle. Hardie, who moved from Plymouth to Wrexham in the summer, was a significant player in Schumacher's League One title-winning team, which makes a reunion at Bolton a possibility. His contract with Wrexham is set to expire on June 30, 2028, and he has made six appearances in the Championship this season without scoring a goal. The forward moved to Wrexham from Plymouth Argyle in July 2025 for a fee that was reported to be approximately €825,000, and his current market value is €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
