Román Vega Transfer from Zenit to River Plate

Journalist German Garcia Grova stated on his social media page X that Zenit does not intend to sell defender Roman Vega to River Plate, which is showing interest in the footballer.

River Plate, also known as El Millonario, made an initial proposal to Zenit for 21-year-old Argentinian left-back Román Vega on a loan with a purchase option. The Russian club, where Vega has made seven appearances in 17 league matches, initially had no intention of letting him go. However, River's intervention could change the situation; Zenit is reportedly willing to negotiate but on the basis of recovering the 9 million dollars they invested in the player five months ago. Vega acknowledged that he would like the challenge of moving to Núñez, stating that it would be nice to play for a club of that magnitude and that he would answer the phone if manager Marcelo Gallardo called. The player's desire for a move is also motivated by personal factors, including wanting to feel important again, being considered for the Argentine National Team again, and the possibility of his daughter growing up in Argentina. Vega has been capped twice for the Argentina U23 team and is under contract with Zenit until June 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €6.00m.
