Southampton was one of several English Championship clubs competing for Hajduk's 21-year-old attacking midfielder Rokas Pukštas, but Middlesbrough is now expected to finalize a deal for the player. The transfer fee is approximately 5 million euros, a figure that satisfies both the club and Pukštas. Birmingham also submitted a concrete offer for the American, who has two caps for the USA U23 team. Freiburg also reportedly inquired about him. Pukštas's contract with the Croatian club is valid until 2027. The agreed fee is below some previous valuations.
