Independiente has initiated negotiations for Rodrigo Echeverría at the express request of coach Gustavo Quinteros. The 31-year-old Chilean midfielder currently plays for León in Mexico and has previously been a target for Boca, River, and Racing. León suggested including Echeverría in a deal for Kevin Lomónaco, but Independiente's board wants to keep the negotiations separate and has not yet made a concrete offer.
