Borussia Mönchengladbach showed interest in Rayane Bounida, a 20-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder, whom they believed could be a valuable addition to the Bundesliga next season. The German club contacted Ajax, but a potential transfer collapsed due to what Mönchengladbach considered to be excessive financial demands. The German side was reportedly unwilling to make a significant effort for a player who they feel still needs to make progress. Ajax is not prepared to sell Bounida for a small fee, as the club believes he can still develop significantly in Amsterdam, where he has a contract until 2028. The player, who has one cap for Morocco, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €5.00m and has also been linked with clubs such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
