Benfica was reportedly one of several clubs interested in the 23-year-old Nigerian centre-forward Rafiu Durosinmi. Lazio, Stuttgart, and a number of English teams, including West Ham United, also showed interest in the player. A transfer for the player to Frankfurt was almost complete but was not finalized following an unsuccessful medical examination. Durosinmi has since moved to the Italian club Pisa and signed a contract that runs until 2030. In the current 2025/2026 season, he has scored 7 goals in 18 league appearances. The transfer fee was reportedly a base of €9 million, which could potentially rise to €11 million with bonuses. His current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €7.50m.
