Atletico Madrid and Betis Séville both submitted offers for Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the end of the winter transfer window. However, the proposals were blocked by Pablo Longoria, the ex-president of Olympique de Marseille. Aubameyang is contracted to Marseille until June 2027, and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the player.
