Rangers are among several teams interested in signing French and Ghanaian midfielder Pierre Ekwah, who has terminated his contract with Saint Etienne. The 23-year-old, who was tentatively linked with Celtic earlier in the year, joined the French club permanently from Sunderland last summer for €7 million but was unhappy about playing in the second tier following their relegation. Rangers, Serie A team Udinese, and an unnamed third club are all monitoring the player's situation as he remains on furlough while legal issues concerning his contract are settled. Ekwah has five caps for the France U20 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.00m.
