Following a successful period at Estoril, where he played a crucial role and served as captain, Álvaro made the decision to leave the club, a move that left many at Estoril disappointed. His name appeared in various reports both domestically and internationally, with interest noted from the Italian club Verona. Nevertheless, Aris succeeded in acquiring him. Álvaro is recognized as a resilient player, having faced and overcome significant challenges, including a severe injury during his loan stint at Belenenses.
