Paulinho Bóia, whose full name is Paulo Henrique Pereira da Silva, has completed a free transfer to Widzew Łódź, signing a contract valid until June 30, 2028, with an option to extend for another year. The 28-year-old Brazilian winger became available after his departure from the Portuguese club Nacional, where he recorded 33 league appearances last season. The sporting director of Widzew Łódź, Artur Płatek, confirmed that the club had been observing Bóia for a long time and that talks had been in progress for some time. Płatek described the player as fitting the winger profile the club was seeking, and highlighted his speed, dynamism, and ability to be effective in one-on-one situations. He also noted Bóia's versatility as an important quality, explaining that while he prefers the left wing, he can also play on the right, which provides more offensive options. Before his time in Portugal, Bóia played for clubs including São Paulo and was sold to Metalist Kharkiv for a reported €1.6 million in 2022. He will wear the number 98 shirt for the Polish club. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.20m, and he had also been linked with Henan Songshan Longmen.
