Otávio Transfer from Al Nassr to Palmeiras
Otávio, a Brazilian naturalized Portuguese player, is unlikely to remain at Al Nassr after being left out of the pre-season by coach Jorge Jesus. With Richard Ríos moving from Palmeiras to Benfica, there have been speculations linking Otávio to the Brazilian club. However, despite Abel Ferreira's long-standing interest in Otávio, an agreement does not seem to be forthcoming. Otávio is under contract with Al Nassr until June 2026, and breaking it would incur substantial costs of approximately 15 million euros (nearly R$ 100 million). Otávio had caught Palmeiras' attention in early 2021, but financial limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic halted any progress. Presently, Otávio remains a costly option with a salary that is not aligned with the financial conditions in Brazil compared to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Al Ahli and Al Qadisiyah, both Saudi clubs, have also expressed interest in Otávio, and Al Nassr might consider using him as part of a trade for new acquisitions. Abel Ferreira noted that the replacement for Richard Ríos might already be within the team, referring to Lucas Evangelista, further reducing the chances of Otávio's transfer.
