Nobel Mendy has been linked to fellow La Liga side Rayo Vallecano, but reports in Spain claim that the Senegalese player has his heart set on joining Rangers. Betis director Manu Fajardo confirmed that they have received two offers from 'major' clubs and expect to finalize the deal in a few hours, with the player's willingness being important.
Rangers expressed interest in signing Nobel Mendy as they sought to strengthen their defense. However, Rayo Vallecano showed serious interest, and according to DAZN journalist Fran Campos Vázquez, Mendy is expected to join Rayo Vallecano. The transfer is taken for granted at Real Betis, pending a definitive closure.
Nobel Mendy has to make a decision between Rayo Vallecano and Rangers FC. Both clubs have agreed on personal terms with Mendy. Club Brugge had Mendy as a target but they haven't sold Ordoñez yet. Mendy is expected to make a fast choice.
Rayo Vallecano has shown interest in acquiring Real Betis's young talent Nobel Mendy. The 20-year-old defender, who is of Senegalese and Guinea-Bissauan descent, joined Betis from Paris FC a year ago but only appeared in five matches last season. Rangers are seen as their primary competitors for his acquisition. Furthermore, Club Brugge and FC Basel are said to be interested in the player as well. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto noted the competitive environment for Mendy, with Rayo Vallecano appearing as a strong candidate. The interest from various clubs highlights his potential despite his limited playtime for Betis. His contract with the Spanish club is valid until June 30, 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €4.00m.
