Myles Lewis-Skelly Transfer from Arsenal to Chelsea
Fabrizio Romano told Chelsea fans they should forget about a deal for Lewis-Skelly, who is described as a project that Arsenal has no intention of allowing to leave in the near future. Talk of a January loan was also dismissed, according to sources from both the club and the player.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly and would be prepared to provide him with an opportunity to leave the club. Chelsea believe he is a player with future potential and are ready to give him an important role in the team. On The Daily Briefing, Mark Brus revealed that Chelsea want to present their proposal to Lewis-Skelly. Brus stated that Chelsea want to sign him and make him a key player, a role which Brus noted is not guaranteed for him at Arsenal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Arteta has blocked a potential January exit for Myles Lewis-Skelly. Romano also stated a transfer could happen next summer if Lewis-Skelly continues to receive limited playing time for large parts of the season. Dean Jones adds that Arsenal see no benefit in loaning the 19-year-old out in January while they push for the title. Jones has also confirmed Chelsea's interest in Lewis-Skelly. Sources state that the club is intrigued by his lack of game time at Arsenal and have him on their list. The Chelsea Chronicle reports that Chelsea have identified Lewis-Skelly as a target amid concerns over Marc Cucurella’s long-term future. Chelsea were first linked with Lewis-Skelly on November 17, when it emerged that they were completing background checks before potentially opening talks with Arsenal.
Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips reports that Enzo Maresca’s side completed background checks on Lewis-Skelly ahead of the January transfer window. Phillips reports that Chelsea are being aggressive and bold in their bid to sign the young left back and are determined to sign the English player. According to Phillips, The Blues have a strong interest in Lewis-Skelly and are also wary of the possibility that first-choice left back Marc Cucurella could leave to return to Barcelona. Phillips also recently stated that Arsenal have made it clear they will not sell Myles-Skelly to their rivals. It is also reported that the teenager is happy at Arsenal despite his lack of minutes. Separately, Sky Sports has confirmed that several Premier League clubs are monitoring Lewis-Skelly’s situation as they consider a possible transfer next year.
Chelsea's interest in Myles Lewis-Skelly has reportedly grown due to his reduced playing time at Arsenal. However, according to transfer insider Dean Jones, Arsenal has no plans for the player to leave and there is no possibility of him joining Chelsea midway through the season. The player has made 8 appearances and provided 1 assist in the Premier League this season.
