According to CalcioMercato, Tottenham are showing interest in Mauro Icardi and approached his entourage during the recent break. The report adds that Icardi is very close to returning to Europe, with a move to the Premier League possible. Mauro Icardi is a free agent.

Argentine and Italian striker Mauro Icardi, 33, is a free agent after leaving Galatasaray and is seeking a new opportunity. During the summer, he was linked with several Serie A teams. Proposals were reportedly made to Lazio, and he was also associated with Como and Juventus. A return to Italy now appears unlikely. Tottenham is considering Icardi to solve the team's goal-scoring problems under Roberto De Zerbi. A move to the club could also see the forward reunite with Piero Ausilio, who has been linked with Spurs after his contract with Inter was terminated. Icardi has 8 caps and 1 goal for Argentina and his current market value is listed as €4.00m by Transfermarkt. His last transfer was in July 2023 for a fee of €10 million from Paris Saint Germain to Galatasaray. In February 2026, reports suggested Galatasaray's asking price was €15 million.
