After securing their league status on the final matchday, Elche's sports management has identified Fernández to reinforce their attack, valuing him for his goal-scoring, versatility, and youth. The player has a contract with Espanyol until 2028, and the club must now decide whether to give him a chance in their squad or to sell him.
