Rumors circulated that Gigi Becali was considering offering Edjouma as a 'bargaining chip' to acquire Ianis Stoica from Hermannstadt. The Sibiu club was agreeable to this proposal, but Edjouma was not in favor of the idea. Edjouma, a 28-year-old French midfielder, had a history of playing for FC Botoșani before moving to FCSB. Despite interest from both Hermannstadt and his former club FC Botoșani, Edjouma turned down their offers.
