Mario Stroeykens Transfer from Anderlecht to Sporting Braga
Journalist Ekrem Konur confirmed that Braga is showing interest in Mario Stroeykens. Anderlecht wants to extend his contract, but a January move looks more likely.
Anderlecht are trying to extend the contract of Mario Stroeykens, but a winter transfer for the 20-year-old forward currently seems more likely. Several foreign clubs are reportedly on the lookout, with Olympique Marseille, Olympique Lyon, Sporting Braga, FC Porto, and AC Milan said to be showing interest in particular.
Het Nieuwsblad quoted Hasi as saying he is glad Mario Stroeykens did not go to Portugal. Hasi feels that, with all due respect to Braga, Mario should aim higher and that it would be best if he could continue to develop with them.
Sporting Braga submitted a bid of 6.5 million euros for Mario Stroeykens during the summer, however, no deal was ultimately reached.
SC Braga made a late attempt to sign Mario Stroeykens, but the player himself did not want the transfer. The transfer window in most major football countries is now closed. The intention was to sell him during the current transfer window to avoid a free departure, as he is in his last contract year and contract extension talks had failed.
Mario Stroeykens, a 20-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder, was in discussions for a potential transfer to Braga, but ultimately, no agreement was reached. Anderlecht had been contemplating the possibility of Stroeykens' departure as they managed player transfers in the final days of the summer transfer window. Despite the prospects of a move, the negotiations did not culminate in a deal, resulting in Stroeykens remaining with Anderlecht for now. His contract with the Belgian club is due to expire on June 30, 2026, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €12.00m. Besides Braga, Stroeykens has been associated with several other clubs, including PSV, RB Leipzig, and Milan.
