Loris Karius Transfer from Schalke 04 to Torino
Torino has expressed interest in Loris Karius, who signed a short-term contract with Schalke 04 from January 14 to June 30. Due to the brevity of his contract, he may become a low-cost acquisition at the season's end. Despite securing the starting position at Schalke and performing commendably, a calf injury has stalled any contract extension negotiations with the club. Karius, formerly with Liverpool, managed to clinch the starting role at Gelsenkirchen, demonstrating his capability to at least meet Zweite Bundesliga standards with four appearances, during which he conceded five goals and achieved one clean sheet. Unfortunately, a calf injury, specifically a rupture of the fibula in his left leg, prematurely ended his season. The injury occurred just before halftime in an away match against SpVgg Greuther Fürth and was confirmed through medical examination, preventing him from playing for the rest of the season. Torino's interest in Karius arises as he regains fitness, potentially making him an appealing option for a free transfer.
