Preston North End, Stoke City, and Norwich City have shown strong Championship interest in Plymouth Argyle's 24-year-old Swiss-Kosovan striker, Lorent Tolaj. Scottish giants Celtic have also stated their interest, and it has been suggested that Middlesbrough should join the pursuit. The former Switzerland U19 international scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 33 League One appearances during the 2025/2026 season. Plymouth CEO Paul Berne has set an asking price of at least £3 million for the striker, a figure that is expected to increase due to the high level of interest; reports in May 2026, however, cited a higher asking price of £5 million. Tolaj joined Plymouth from Port Vale last summer when his £1.2 million release clause was triggered. His contract runs until the summer of 2029, and Plymouth manager Tom Cleverley previously revealed that the deal does not contain a release clause. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.50m.
