According to his agent Ricardo Scheidt, 30-year-old Brazilian centre-back Léo Pereira received several proposals to leave Flamengo. Scheidt listed Beşiktaş, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Cruz Azul, and Monterrey as some of the interested clubs. He also detailed a specific offer from Al Nassr, which was made before the club bought Laporte. The agent explained that the transfer did not proceed because the manager at the time, Jorge Sampaoli, said he would not approve the defender's departure, even though Al Nassr met Flamengo's valuation for the player. Léo Pereira, who has four caps for Brazil, joined Flamengo in January 2020 and his contract runs until December 2027. In the current 2025/2026 domestic league season, he has made 14 appearances and scored one goal. His market value is estimated at €12.00m by Transfermarkt. Reports in late 2025 and early 2026 suggested Flamengo was pointing interested clubs to a €60 million release clause.
