Léo Ortiz Transfer from Flamengo to RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig recently made an offer for Léo Ortiz, a 29-year-old Brazilian defender, but Flamengo rejected it. The proposal included twelve million euros plus three million in bonuses, an amount Flamengo deemed insufficient. Leipzig is anticipated to make another attempt to sign Ortiz as they aim to reintegrate him into the RB family. Mario Gómez, the Technical Director at RB, has reportedly shown interest in Ortiz since his transfer from RB Bragantino to Flamengo a year ago for seven million euros. Leipzig is not the only club eyeing Ortiz, as another unnamed Bundesliga team has also shown interest. Flamengo's CEO, José Boto, indicated that the club is hesitant to sell such a pivotal player so late in the transfer window, noting Ortiz's significant contribution of 74 appearances and ten goal contributions over the past 16 months. The club's stance is further supported by Ortiz's contract, which extends until the end of 2028, and his Transfermarkt valuation of €13 million. Besides interest from German clubs, Italian teams Juventus and Roma are also reportedly linked with Ortiz.
