The signing of Kristoffer Lund and the resurgence of Alex Cochrane could lead to Lee Buchanan departing Birmingham City before the transfer window closes. It is expected that a player with Buchanan's considerable experience will attract interest during the final month of the transfer window.

Lee Buchanan has three years remaining on his contract, and the summer could be an ideal time for the club to recoup some of the fee paid to Werder Bremen in July 2023 for his services.
