Kristian Hlynsson leaving Ajax?
Kristian Hlynsson is among the players Ajax has decided to let go. The club used a WhatsApp group chat to inform him that he is free to find a new club and will not be part of the first team's future plans.
Kristian Hlynsson is currently with Ajax and was rumored to be leaving the club. However, according to ESPN and multiple sources around Ajax, the new coach John Heitinga has given him a chance to prove himself during the pre-season. If he performs well, there might be a surprising role for him in Ajax's first team, and a contract extension could even be possible.
Ajax has informed Kristian Hlynsson that he is not part of the plans for the next season and has instructed him to find a new team. This decision was communicated via WhatsApp by Sporting Director Alex Kroes.
Kristian Hlynsson is not welcome at Ajax's first team anymore and is set to be sold this summer to generate funds for new signings.
Kristian Hlynsson is contemplating a departure from Ajax due to limited opportunities for playing time under coach Francesco Farioli. Fortuna Düsseldorf, along with another club from the 2. Bundesliga and two clubs from the Eredivisie, have expressed interest in the midfielder. Icelandic journalist Orri Rafn Sigurdarson has indicated that Ajax is negotiating either a loan or sale deal for the 21-year-old. At present, a loan appears to be the most feasible option, although no agreement has been finalized yet. Despite ongoing transfer discussions, Hlynsson remains included in the match squad for the Europa League game against Rigas FS.
