Queens Park Rangers have considered signing Montpellier HSC's Khalil Fayad this summer. The UK press reported last summer that the Championship side wanted to sign the 22-year-old. In July 2025, the French media promptly dismissed those links to QPR and labelled the story as fake news. The midfielder did not join QPR or any other club and completed the season with the Ligue 2 side. Julien Stéphan's side have reportedly given up on signing the Frenchman. No further explanation has been given for why the English club has decided against pursuing Khalil Fayad, particularly as Montpellier HSC are keen for him to leave this summer. The potential move to the English club is no longer being pursued. The Championship side was presented with an opportunity to sign him, but QPR are no longer pursuing this after initially showing interest. He is in the final year of his contract, and according to Transfermarkt, his value is €1.5m. Fayad joined Montpellier in July 2022 and has made three appearances for the France U20 team.
