Kenneth Vargas Transfer from Hearts to Herediano
Kenneth Vargas has left Hearts to return to his former club SC Herediano on loan, just one summer after signing a five-year contract. The Costa Rican forward had not featured for the team under manager Derek McInnes after a hip injury kept him out of pre-season, and he found himself lower in the pecking order following several summer arrivals. The club confirmed the move, which is a short-term deal until December that could become permanent in January. The transfer was completed as the Costa Rican window is still open. During the main transfer window, Spanish second-tier side Cueta had been keen on the 23-year-old but were unable to finalise a deal. According to Transfermarkt, Vargas has a current market value of €900k. Vargas had previously caused controversy with comments made in an interview, where he claimed the level of the Scottish Premiership was not good and that he wished to leave in January to play against better opposition.
