Keisuke Goto has transferred from his parent club RSC Anderlecht to SC Freiburg for a transfer fee of eleven million euros. Goto stated that SC Freiburg had been very interested in him a few months prior and he felt from the beginning that the people in charge really wanted him, which was a primary reason for his choice of the club. He also said he watched some games in the Europa League, adding that for him, Freiburg is a big club and he is looking forward to the upcoming season. Jochen Saier, a board member of SC Freiburg, said that with Keisuke, they have acquired an exciting player with interesting qualities. Saier stated that Goto's daring playing style will benefit them, as he likes to seek depth, has a good sense of space and an instinct for how to position himself in the penalty area.
