According to Cadena SER, Manchester City expressed interest in Julian Alvarez and have spoken with Atletico de Madrid to enquire about the striker's situation. Julian Alvarez has categorically rejected a return to Manchester City. Cadena SER also reported that Manchester City received a negative response from Julian Alvarez even before being able to present an offer to Atletico de Madrid.

According to Marca, Manchester City would now like to bring Julian Alvarez back. Manchester City had sold the player to Atlético de Madrid for 90 million euros two years ago. The departures of Marmoush and Savinho to Tottenham have created an opening at City. It is not certain that Julian Alvarez is interested in the move, as he left City to become the leader of an attack at a big club and to not be in a secondary role to Erling Haaland, who is still there. The transfer could be for an amount around 150 million euros. Julian Alvarez trained alone this Friday, skipping collective training for the third consecutive day, and will be absent for Atlético de Madrid's match against Sevilla this Saturday.
