Josh Maja is a free agent after not agreeing to a new contract with West Brom this summer. This occurred two months after the club's retained list had revealed that negotiations were taking place. On July 13, it was stated that the 27-year-old Nigerian international striker was going to leave West Brom. Mark Robins, the manager of Stoke City, is considered a potential suitor, with hopes that Maja could rediscover his best form. He previously had a loan spell at the club from Bordeaux in the 2021/22 season. It has also been suggested that two other Championship clubs, Watford and Bristol City, should monitor the striker's availability. Maja has one cap for Nigeria and, according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €4.50m.
