Panetolikos announced the signing of the Cuban international forward, Jorge Aguirre, on loan from the Portuguese club Gil Vicente, with a purchase option for next summer. Aguirre has previously played for Real Sociedad's youth teams, Deportivo Mirandés on loan, and Osasuna B.

Panetolikos is close to acquiring Jorge Aguirre as part of their major restructuring in the attacking line. The 25-year-old Cuban international center-forward, who was born and raised in Spain, moved to Portugal last summer to join Gil Vicente on a three-year contract. Last season, he made 34 appearances with four goals and two assists in the Portuguese top division. He became an international for Cuba in May, with three appearances and two goals. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market worth at 600k euros.
