John Victor, a 29-year-old Brazilian, joined Nottingham Forest after West Ham abandoned an agreed deal for the Botafogo goalkeeper to sign another player instead. Although the Hammers later reopened talks with Victor, he completed a move to Forest, becoming one of four key Botafogo players to transfer to the City Ground this summer. In addition to West Ham, he had also drawn interest from other clubs, including Manchester United and Fenerbahçe. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €8.00m.
