Bristol City are reportedly considering a move for 23-year-old Huddersfield Town striker Joe Taylor, but only if the transfer fee is acceptable. Taylor, who previously played under new manager Michael Skubala at Lincoln City, is a high-priority transfer target for Skubala. The player is said to be eager for an opportunity to play in the Championship. Alan Nixon has reported that Huddersfield are open to a transfer but would want to recoup the fee they paid for him. While the fee was previously reported to be close to £3m, the upfront payment is believed to have been lower, and it is thought that a deal could be secured for as little as £2m. In March, Preston North End and Oxford United were also reported to be interested in the player, although Oxford's relegation may make it difficult for them to afford the fee. The Welsh U21 international spent the 2025/2026 season on loan at Wigan Athletic, where he scored 15 goals in 40 League One appearances. His contract with Huddersfield Town runs until June 2029, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €600k.
