Brighton & Hove Albion have watched Venezia's 22-year-old Italian-Ivorian midfielder Issa Doumbia in recent months and are showing interest. Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest have also been monitoring the Italy Under-21s international. Further Premier League interest comes from Everton and Chelsea, who are also interested in the player, and intermediaries have confirmed there is growing interest from within the league. The Friedkin Group, which has links to both Roma and Everton, is understood to be conducting background work on the midfielder. Additionally, Chelsea's ownership group, BlueCo, admire the player and have discussed a move to Strasbourg as part of his development. The competition for Doumbia extends across Europe, with Serie A clubs Napoli, Inter Milan, and AC Milan, as well as Portuguese teams Benfica and Sporting, all tracking his progress. Doumbia joined Venezia in July 2024 and his contract runs until June 2029, with a current Transfermarkt market value of €8.00m. Recent reports from April 2026 state Venezia's asking price is €15 million. The club reportedly rejected offers of around €6 million during the January 2026 window.
