Illan Meslier Transfer from Leeds United to Club Brugge
CaughtOffside reported that Belgium is now Illan Meslier's most likely destination and that Club and Anderlecht are pursuing him. A limited transfer fee would still have to be paid in January. Meslier's contract ends next summer, at which point he will be available for free.
It is reported that Illan Meslier is the subject of growing interest ahead of a potential exit in the January transfer window. Club Brugge are competing with Anderlecht for the signing of Meslier. Some initial contacts have already taken place over his departure, and Club Brugge and Anderlecht appear to be his most likely next destinations.
According to Erkrem Konur, a self-proclaimed transfer watcher, Ilan Meslier is a target for Club Brugge, which may be seeking a successor to Simon Mignolet. The club's rivals, RSC Anderlecht, are also reportedly interested in the 25-year-old French goalkeeper. Meslier is permitted to leave Leeds United, where he is in the final year of his contract, but there is significant competition from other clubs, including Celtic, Olympique Lyon, OGC Nice, Sevilla, Real Betis, Torino, and AZ Alkmaar. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value to be €14 million.
