Reports suggest Celtic have made a move for 20-goal Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabate, who is rated at around £3m in Sweden. The 26-year-old GAIS forward, who shared the top scorer award in the Allsvenskan, had been strongly linked with Al-Ahly. However, the Cairo club may lose their main target as Celtic have made an approach to GAIS. Diabate, who has two years left on his contract, recently seemed unenthusiastic about a move to Africa, stating last week that the links were just rumours and that little of what was said about him signing for Al-Ahly was true. The centre-forward has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m. In August 2025, GAIS's asking price was reportedly €2.5 million, while in November the club's asking price in negotiations with Al Ahly was a reported €1.85 million.
