Ibrahim Diabaté Transfer from GAIS to Celtic
GAIS's technical director Magnus Skoldmark has said the club is open to a deal for Ibrahim Diabate, an Ivory Coast striker reportedly of interest to the Hoops. The frontman, valued at approximately £3m in Sweden, impressed for the Gothenburg side and shared the top scorer award in the Allsvenskan last season. Skoldmark told Fotbollskanalen that he could be completely transparent and that the club has no offer at this time. He described Diabate's season last year as exceptional, adding that if there is a strong offer from someone, they will listen to it.
Ibrahim Diabate was described as a super physical striker by analyst Jan Schultz. Diabate scored 20 goals in 32 appearances for GAIS in all competitions in 2025, according to Sofascore.
Celtic have been linked with a move for striker Ibrahim Diabate, but Swedish sources have downplayed that interest. Diabate's club, GAIS, has not had any contact from Celtic, either directly or indirectly.
Reports suggest Celtic have made a move for 20-goal Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabate, who is rated at around £3m in Sweden. The 26-year-old GAIS forward, who shared the top scorer award in the Allsvenskan, had been strongly linked with Al-Ahly. However, the Cairo club may lose their main target as Celtic have made an approach to GAIS. Diabate, who has two years left on his contract, recently seemed unenthusiastic about a move to Africa, stating last week that the links were just rumours and that little of what was said about him signing for Al-Ahly was true. The centre-forward has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m. In August 2025, GAIS's asking price was reportedly €2.5 million, while in November the club's asking price in negotiations with Al Ahly was a reported €1.85 million.
