Club Brugge from Belgium is one of several European clubs that have recently made inquiries about Flamengo's 20-year-old Brazilian defender, Iago. The English clubs Everton and Brentford have also made inquiries. It is reported that Everton is showing strong interest and is monitoring the player through their scouts in Brazil. Bahia from Brazil is the only club that has submitted a formal proposal for Iago so far. In December 2025, Flamengo reportedly rejected a bid from Bahia of approximately €2 million plus a sell-on percentage. Iago has been capped by Brazil at the U20 level and has a contract with Flamengo until December 2026. His current market value is €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
