Kicker reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach has permanently signed Hugo Bolin. The club exercised a clause in the contract for the Swedish offensive player, who had been on loan from Malmö FF since the end of January. The transfer fee was reportedly around two million euros, and Bolin's new contract at Borussia-Park is valid until June 30, 2030.

According to Sportbladet, Hugo Bolin is expected to continue at Borussia Mönchengladbach after the summer. Information from the outlet indicates that the requirements in the purchase option with Malmö FF have been fulfilled, and he will therefore be purchased by the German club this summer. The initial deal was a loan; Malmö FF had stated the option was obligatory, while Mönchengladbach described it as a purchase option. It is now reported that the purchase option became obligatory after several easily achievable, performance-based requirements were fulfilled. Bild recently wrote that Bolin's future would be uncertain and that the purchase could be cancelled if Mönchengladbach were relegated. However, Sportbladet's German sources state that Bolin will remain at the club, which will purchase him this summer regardless of the season's outcome. According to Fabrizio Romano, the purchase option was valued at 37 million kronor.
