Djurgården is attempting to sign 27-year-old centre-back Hjalmar Ekdal, who has one year left on his contract with Burnley. The Burnley coach recently stated that the Swedish player is one of several who could leave before the transfer window closes. Rumored interest has also come from FC Copenhagen and Paok, and Djurgården is reportedly one of multiple interested clubs. Ekdal previously joined Burnley from Djurgården in early 2023, and his older brother, Albin Ekdal, works as a sports assistant at the Swedish club. Ekdal has 13 caps for Sweden, and his current market value is €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
