Bristol Live understands that Bristol Rovers are the leading contender to sign Wrexham's Harry Ashfield, a 19-year-old Welsh attacking midfielder, on a loan deal until the end of the season. The club, which approached the player on Monday, is said to have made the most persuasive proposal, and Ashfield is reportedly keen on the move. There is significant interest from other clubs in the third and fourth tiers, with two League One teams and three League Two teams, including play-off chasing Cambridge United, also interested. The RobRyanRed podcast also reported on X that Bristol Rovers are making a strong effort to secure the loan. The deal is now awaiting approval from Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson. Ashfield has made one appearance in the Championship in the 2025/2026 season and his contract with Wrexham runs until June 2027.
