AS Roma has submitted a first offer for Givairo Read, a Dutch-Surinamese right-back for Feyenoord. The proposal is reportedly higher than the previous bids from Nottingham Forest, which were rejected. The Premier League club is said to have made three unsuccessful offers. According to reports in July 2026, rejected bids rose from €17.5 million to between €21-€23 million. The club then ended its pursuit of the 20-year-old to focus on alternatives, despite reportedly having reached a personal agreement with the player. The value of Roma's offer is unknown. Read is said to be interested in a move to the Italian club. Feyenoord considers Read an important player for the upcoming season and is seeking at least thirty million euros for him. Last winter, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United also reportedly showed interest. It was separately reported that Bayern Munich set a firm €30 million limit for the player in April 2026. An injury prevented a potential transfer. Read is a Netherlands U21 international with a Transfermarkt valuation of €25.00m. He joined Feyenoord in July 2024, and his contract runs until 2029. In the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season, Read made 43 appearances, scored 3 goals, and provided 10 assists.
