Como submitted an initial €25M offer for Geny Catamo, a 25-year-old winger from Mozambique, which Sporting rejected. The Italian club has since increased its bid, and negotiations are ongoing with an unpredictable outcome. Sporting's directors are asking for a fee near the player's €60M release clause, as his contract is valid until 2028. Como had also shown interest in the player last year when the valuation was between €25M and €30M, though a deal did not advance. The Saudi club Al Ittihad is also monitoring Catamo but has not made a formal offer. Catamo joined Sporting in July 2023, has a current market value of €20.00m according to Transfermarkt, and has 42 caps for Mozambique, having scored 15 goals.
