Sunderland are understood to be in a strong position to sign him, as their sporting director has held talks with the Portuguese club. Catamo is keen on the move to Sunderland. The winger has a release clause valued at just over £51 million. It has been reported that intermediaries have indicated to Sunderland that a deal might be possible for around €40 million. Catamo has 42 caps and 15 goals for his country. He joined Sporting in July 2023 and is under contract until 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €25 million. The current valuation comes after a reported €25 million offer from Como was rejected in June 2026.
