Paris Saint-Germain continues to think of Gavi as the number one target for the midfield of Luis Enrique's team for the next season and not only. L'Equipe suggests that the French club has identified the Spanish national as a possible transfer target since last summer, with the clear intent to provide the team with a promising youngster who can be the future of their midfield. Gavi remains at the top of the list of possible targets, but signing the 19-year-old will not be an easy task for the French champions. Barça has no interest in selling one of its most precious assets and his contract, which will last until 2026, has a termination clause of 1 billion euros, a figure that seems unreachable even for the very rich Parisian club. The ongoing financial problems of Barcelona could be the turning point for the deal. The team may be forced to sell some starters to make money before they can invest in new players, but the resigning coach Xavi, has asked to fight hard to ensure that Gavi stays: 'Gavi must stay, he must be one of the captains of the future team. We always talk about departures, but Gavi must be the future of Barça.'
