Gabriel Martinelli Transfer from Arsenal to FC Bayern München
Gabriel Martinelli remains on the wishlist of Bayern Munich and is a profile the club admires. According to Christian Falk, while Bayern were interested in Martinelli in the last summer window, he was a topic on a long list and was lower on it than Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens. Martinelli became one of Bayern's ideas after they did not get either of those two players. Christian Falk heard that Bayern Munich would have paid €30m-35m [£26.1m-30.5m], but that was not enough for Arsenal, who said that they did not have to talk about it.
According to Christian Falk, Bayern Munich were interested in Gabriel Martinelli in the summer transfer window, but Arsenal’s asking price prevented an agreement over a deal. Christian Falk said Bayern Munich would have paid €30m-35m, which was not enough for Arsenal, and reported that there were talks with Martinelli’s agents. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed this was the case. Thomas Tuchel had discussed signing Martinelli during his time at Bayern, and it was one of his ideas.
Bayern Munich were linked with a move for Gabriel Martinelli earlier this year, however their interest has died down following their decision to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz in August.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Bayern Munich tried to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal at the beginning of the summer transfer window. Bayern put forward numbers in the €30m-€35m range and spoke positively with Martinelli's agents. However, Arsenal believed Martinelli was worth much more and showed no intention to accept anything close to that fee. Negotiations did not advance due to financial reasons and because Martinelli was happy at Arsenal.
Bayern Munich have expressed interest in acquiring Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, with Arsenal reportedly open to considering offers for the Brazilian international. Bayern Munich aims to bolster their forward line and views Martinelli as a suitable candidate. According to Christian Falk, a Bild reporter, the 24-year-old is under discussion as a potential option by Bayern officials. Arsenal is seeking to reduce their wage expenses and might sell several players, including Martinelli, as part of a squad overhaul. They are expected to demand more than £50 million for Martinelli's transfer. Since joining Arsenal from Ituano in 2019 for £5 million, Martinelli has made 225 appearances, scoring 51 goals and providing 29 assists. He is contracted with Arsenal until the summer of 2027.
