Bold.dk reports that Frej Elkjær has moved from AGF to the Dutch top club AZ Alkmaar. Frej Elkjær has signed a long-term contract until 2030 and will initially join Jong AZ Alkmaar. He declined a contract extension and his first senior contract at AGF in favor of this transfer.

According to Bold.dk, 18-year-old Frej Elkjær has been sold by AGF to AZ Alkmaar. The Superliga club confirmed the transfer on Tuesday. AGF's talent manager, Marc Søballe, stated that it is a good solution for both the club and Frej Elkjær, as it allows him to leave now and the club to secure a transfer. Søballe also mentioned that Elkjær has a good opportunity at an exciting club and that this transfer is an endorsement of the work done by AGF's academy coaches.

AZ Alkmaar is acquiring Frej Elkjær, an 18-year-old Danish Left-Back, from AGF. Elkjær has been with AGF for 13 years. The teenager is a U19 international and had previously rejected a senior contract offer from the Danish club. Torino also attracted interest in the player. It is reported that Elkjær is already in the Netherlands to complete the transfer and that the Dutch club is close to finalizing the deal. He has 8 caps for the Denmark U19 team and has made 8 appearances in the U19 Boys League in the 2025/2026 season.
