Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar have a specific interest in signing 25-year-old Swiss versatile player Christian Witzig. The deal is not yet complete, and a potential transfer could be influenced by FCSG's upcoming Conference League qualifier against Nordsjaelland. Although FCSG is not expected to prevent a transfer for Witzig, who has a contract until 2029, Roger Stilz will require a fee for the homegrown player's departure. The transfer fee for Witzig, who will turn 26 in January, is expected to be less than the sum of just over three million that the club received for Isaac Schmidt's transfer almost two years ago. The midfielder, who joined his current club in July 2021, has one cap for the Switzerland national team and a current market value of €3.00m according to Transfermarkt.
