The excellent form of 26-year-old Croatian forward Franko Kovačević at the start of the season has attracted interest in Croatia. There is reported interest from Croatian media (portal Index) and general mention of his performances drawing attention. However, Kovačević himself expressed a desire to stay at Celje as long as possible, especially due to coach Albert Riera. He explicitly said he would sign a new contract if Riera stays for three more years, stating that money is not his goal, but development. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is €700k.
