Facundo Medina Transfer from Lens to Atlético Madrid

Facundo Medina, who is currently with Lens, has indicated his intention to leave the club despite having renewed his contract until 2028. Atlético de Madrid is reportedly interested in acquiring him as they aim to strengthen their central defense. Medina's defensive skills and left-footed play are highly valued by manager Diego Simeone. Lens is open to facilitating his departure for a transfer fee between 20 and 25 million euros. The Argentine defender, who recently bid farewell to Lens, has been part of the club since 2020 and feels that his time there has concluded. Atlético is considering Medina as a more cost-effective option compared to their primary target, Cuti Romero from Tottenham, who has a price tag of 50 million euros. In addition to Atlético, several other clubs, including River Plate, Olympique de Marseille, and some Italian teams, have expressed interest in Medina, though he prefers to continue his career in Europe.
