Kim Hellberg’s side are expected to overcome competition from league rivals Bristol City, and Finley Munroe is due to transfer to the Riverside Stadium.

Bristol City and Middlesbrough have both submitted offers to sign Finley Munroe from Aston Villa this January. According to the BBC, the Robins have made a bid worth £350,000 for the defender. It is understood that Middlesbrough's offer is for a similar amount, but also includes a sell-on clause. The 20-year-old is expected to be recalled from his loan at Swindon Town due to the interest in a permanent transfer. A move to either club could be completed as early as this week. Preston North End and Leyton Orient have also been recently linked with the player. Munroe has until 2 February to complete any permanent move before the winter transfer window closes.
