Wolves have been advised to attempt to finalise a transfer for Ellis Simms from Coventry City. With Sidiki Cherif and Taiwo Awoniyi having joined Coventry City, Simms may see his standing in the team reduced. Furthermore, with his contract approaching its end, Coventry is aware they may need to sell him for a fee, a situation which is expected to be advantageous to Wolves in negotiations.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Wolves are considering a move for Coventry City striker Ellis Simms, who is on the club's transfer radar in the final two weeks of the window. Witcoop adds that Coventry expect loan bids from a number of Championship clubs for Simms before the end of the month. It is not known whether Frank Lampard is willing to approve the departure of the striker, who has just one year remaining on his City contract.

However, the deal is considered difficult as the Sky Blues may not wish to sell the striker. Simms scored 13 goals in 43 games to help Coventry win promotion to the Premier League and will likely hope for a chance to play in the top flight. Simms joined Coventry City in July 2023 and has a contract until 2027. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €12.00m. West Ham United have also been reported as being interested in the forward.
