League One clubs Barnsley and Plymouth Argyle are both interested in signing Falkirk's 24-year-old Scottish defensive midfielder, Dylan Tait, on a free transfer. Tait's contract is due to expire at the end of May. His manager at Falkirk, John McGlynn, has stated that negotiations for a new deal have been ongoing since before Christmas. McGlynn conveyed that he does not think the situation is looking good but admitted that the outcome is not yet certain. The interest from the two English clubs coincides with Barnsley's plans to reduce its budget and Plymouth's search for new midfielders. Tait, who joined Falkirk in July 2024, has a current market value of €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
